I have been a professional pianist, piano teacher and accompanist since 2012, having previously worked in the academic world as a researcher and tutor in philosophy. Music has always been my passion and a very serious sideline, eventually leading to me taking a decision to change my career direction and make it my full-time living. I love the combination of delving into the secrets of great piano music in my practice time, and teaching children and adults about this repertoire and the art of playing. I also love working closely with singers and other musicians and playing for choirs. I find teaching and accompanying hugely rewarding, making me reflect on music in completely new ways. I also love performing in concerts and for private functions, weddings and other events both as a soloist and an accompanist – ultimately I think music is for sharing!
